The LISD Office of Communications kindly request your support for our upcoming Annual Belle of the Ball Prom Program. As we prepare for this special occasion, we are collecting formal and semiformal gowns for our young ladies and Tuxedos and sports coats and ties for our young men to provide them with memorable attire for their prom night.
If you have any gently used formal or semiformal dresses, Tuxedos and sports coats and ties that you would like to donate, we would be immensely grateful for your contribution. Your generosity will directly impact the lives of our students and help make their prom experience truly unforgettable.

🗣️ Word of the Week: DESCRIBE 🗣️
Let’s paint a picture with our words! This week, our focus is on the word Describe.
Definition: To tell or write about something; to give a detailed account of what something looks like, sounds like, feels like, or implies.
How can we practice this week?
Students: Don't just say "It was fun." Describe what made it fun! Was it the loud music? The fast game? The funny jokes?
Parents: At dinner, ask your child to describe one specific thing they learned today using 3 adjectives.
Staff: Challenge students to use descriptive language in their answers—let's move beyond "yes" or "no"!

It's Word Wednesday! 🔤 Our special word this week is "Discuss" - the magic key that helps us share thoughts and ideas with friends, teachers, and family! 🗣️ When we discuss things, we learn from each other and solve problems together. Yesterday, our little scholars practiced this skill during circle time, taking turns to discuss their favorite books and why they loved them! 📚 Ask your child about a time they discussed something important today - their answers might surprise you! ✨ Remember, great discussions involve both talking AND listening! 👂

📚 Word of the Week: "discuss" is taking center stage in our classroom! 🗣️ We've been exploring how to share ideas, listen to others, and have meaningful conversations. The kiddos are practicing using "discuss" in sentences like "Let's discuss what happened in the story" and "I want to discuss my project with you." They're learning that discussing means more than just talking—it's about exchanging thoughts and opinions! Some of our little debaters are already pros at discussion circles! 💭 Ask your child what they discussed in class today—you might be surprised by their conversation skills! 🌟

🚀 Ready for an adventure without leaving the library? This Monday at Extended Library, journey through space or explore ocean depths with our amazing Virtual Reality stations by Class VR! 🌊 First, read a fascinating book, take a quick AR test, then hop over for an experience that's truly out of this world! Perfect for curious minds and imagination explorers. See you there for some reality-bending fun! ✨

🎨 A big round of applause for our artistic superstar, Ms. Azul Flores! This talented 4th grader just won the district drawing contest for the 19th Annual Technology Expo! 🏆 Azul's amazing creation will be featured on ALL Elementary level participant t-shirts! Talk about leaving your mark! Next time you see Azul, give her a high-five for making our school shine with her creativity! ✨ (And yes, we're all hoping she'll sign our t-shirts when they arrive! 😉)

📸 Spooky Photo ALERT! PK will be capturing Halloween memories on Friday, October 31st, for just $5!

🤩Word of the Week - Diving into the world of inference this week! 🔍 Our young detectives are learning to "infer" - which means coming to conclusions based on clues and evidence. Just like real-life mystery solvers, they're practicing how to read between the lines in stories and figure out what happened to characters even when it's not directly stated. "I had to use my detective skills to infer what happened to the character in our story today!" 🕵️♀️📚 It's amazing to see their little minds connecting dots and making smart guesses based on what they know! Practice at home and at school, and build your vocabulary! 😊
