Today the Texas Education Agency officially announced that Laredo ISD has earned two A’s. The annual ratings show that LISD earned an A in Academic Accountability with a district score of 90. Overall campus ratings for LISD’s 28 schools include 18 A’s and 10 B’s. No LISD campus earned a C or D. LISD also earned an A in finance through their Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) rating.

Reflecting on the past nine months, it is incredible to see how much has been accomplished at VMT. Checkmate! LISD’s named its top chess players after a fierce competition this past Saturday at the LISD PAC in the Dr. Marcus Nelson Conference Center. The LISD Fine Arts Department hosted an All-Star Chess Tournament for the district’s All-Star chess players. The top 10 winners were recognized with either a trophy or medal for their accomplishments.

The Vidal M. Trevino School of Communications and Fine Arts presented graduating seniors from Martin, Nixon, and Cigarroa High School with their VMT Medallion during the Annual Medallion Ceremony at the LISD PAC Auditorium.

Laredo ISD recognized its Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year and Clerical and Instructional Paraprofessional of the Year nominees during the district’s Employee of the Year Banquet which was held at the Dr. Marcus Nelson Conference Center.

Join us for an enchanting evening of music as the VMT Honors Wind Ensemble presents Musical Narratives.

This event is open to the public, and we invite our VMT families and community to come enjoy a wonderful concert showcasing the talent and dedication of our students.
