The LISD Fine Arts Department hosted the Mustang Team Feeder Pattern Fine Arts Extravaganza. The entertainment included the Mustang Feed Pattern Elementary Choir, Milton Elementary Ballet Folclórico, Nixon High School Ballet Folclórico, Lamar Middle School Mariachi, Lamar Middle School Orchestra and Band, and Nixon High School Cheerleaders and Band.

Today, history was made for Vidal M. Treviño School of Communications and Fine Arts. The Gold Seal is the highest honor awarded in visual arts at the state level in Texas, recognizing exemplary student achievement and a standard of excellence through the Texas Art Education Association Visual Art Scholastic Event.
During the 2026 VASE season, 32,456 artworks were judged statewide, with 2,154 advancing to State VASE. Of those state-qualifying works, approximately 151 received the prestigious Gold Seal recognition.
Madelyn’s achievement places her among the top visual art students in the state. Congratulations to Madelyn and her teacher, Mrs. Clarissa Visarra, for continuing to Define the Standard through excellence in the visual arts.
