🎭 VMT Theater Students Take the Stage! 🎭
Today, the VMT Theater Department presented a student directed production titled "Dalmatian" in the Black Box Theater, showcasing the incredible talent and creativity of our students. VMT students were treated to this special performance during the school day, experiencing the hard work and dedication that went into bringing the production to life. The play featured performances and design work by students in our Drama classes under the instruction of Mr. Joe Flores, along with the outstanding technical support from students in Technical Theater under the instruction of Mr. Joshua Wolfe. Together, these students collaborated to create a memorable theatrical experience for the VMT community.
A special thank you to Alan Garcia for designing the event flyer and to Gabriella Ramos for capturing the production through photography. Great job to all the students involved in this production!

Throughout the year, she showcases the beauty and tradition of Folklórico, guiding her students with discipline, passion, and high standards of performance. Thank you for all that you do for our dancers and our VMT family. We are proud to honor you as our February Teacher of the Month!

As our Registrar, Mr. Mendiola plays a vital role in supporting our students, families, and staff each day. His organization and attention to detail help keep our front office operating efficiently and ensure that important processes run smoothly. We proudly celebrate the students of the VMT International Dance Program, under the direction of Ms. Alicia McKinnis, for their outstanding representation at the Rio Grande Valley Regional Dance Competition in Edinburg, Texas.
Competing in Division II at the City of Edinburg Conceptos Dance Ensemble competition, our Folklórico dancers showcased their talent, discipline, and cultural pride on stage. Your dedication to preserving tradition while performing with excellence continues to make VMT proud. Way to represent, Gladiators!

These outstanding students demonstrate exemplary discipline and dedication in their studies across Photography, High Brass, Woodwinds, and Percussion. Their commitment to excellence is evident in the time they invest, the skills they continue to refine, and the way they represent VMT while competing in competitions and showcasing their talents.
Whether they are creating in the studio, rehearsing after school, performing on stage, or showcasing their talents in competitive settings, these Gladiators continue to elevate their craft through focus, perseverance, and pride in their work. Huge congratulations to VMT Art students Marleny Perez and Zoe Barrientos for shining bright at this year’s 63rd Annual Laredo Fair Art Showcase! Your talent, creativity, and hard work truly stood out, and we couldn’t be prouder!
Marleny earned 2nd Place in Painting for her vibrant watercolor piece, and Zoe earned 8th Place in Black & White for her stunning graphite drawing. Both artists are under the direction of Mrs. Clarissa Visarra. Amazing work, Marleny and Zoe, thank you for representing VMT so well!

Regina Loa was named High School Grand Champion and earned 1st Place in the Drawing, Color category. In addition to receiving a $500 award, her winning artwork will be featured in the Silent Auction at the Webb County Pavilion on February 28, 2026.
Regina has been mentored by Mrs. Berrios, whose guidance and dedication continue to open doors for students to showcase their talents within our community. A sincere thank you to Mrs. Berrios for creating meaningful opportunities that allow our students to grow and shine.

As we prepare to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Friday, February 13, we want to ensure a safe and smooth day for all students and staff. Laredo ISD has shared important guidelines for Valentine’s Day deliveries across all campuses.
🌸 Delivery Window:
Valentine gifts (flowers, balloons, candy, etc.) will only be accepted during the morning hours.
• Elementary: 8:00–11:00 a.m.
• Middle School: 8:15–11:15 a.m.
• High School: 8:30–11:30 a.m.
📦 Important Reminders:
• Deliveries must be dropped off at designated tables monitored by campus staff
• Only campus personnel may deliver items to students
• No singing telegrams
• All food items must be store-bought
• Gifts must be clearly labeled with the student’s name, teacher, and grade
• Balloon and flower arrangements must go home at the end of the school day
These protocols help us keep our campuses safe while still allowing students to enjoy the celebration. Thank you for your cooperation and support! 💖
