The halls of VMT were filled with Halloween spirit and creative energy as students showcased their artistic skills in the school’s first annual Pumpkin Carving Competition. Among the standout entries, student Madelyn Marchan captivated judges and peers alike with an extraordinary, highly detailed creation.

Stepping beyond traditional carving techniques, Madelyn transformed her pumpkin into an ornate sculpture inspired by the iconic classic The Nightmare Before Christmas. Using a skillful blend of clay and papier-mâché, she built intricate elements, textures, and dimensional characters directly onto the canvas of her pumpkin, crafting a truly spooktacular piece of art.

Her imaginative work highlighted not only impressive technical craft but also a unique artistic vision that brought the beloved story to life.

Congratulations to Madelyn Marchan on her well-deserved recognition in this landmark inaugural competition!
