Things are heating up at the Vidal M. Treviño School of Communications and Fine Arts (VMT). The Radio, Television, and Film (RTF) department has officially wrapped production on the premiere episode of its newest digital series, "Spice It Up"...a customized, student-led spin on the internet phenomenon "Hot Ones."
The high-concept interview show challenges featured guests to answer insightful questions while tackling a gauntlet of chicken wings coated in progressively spicier hot sauces.
Stepping into the hot seat for the inaugural episode was Laredo ISD Superintendent Mr. Guillermo Pro, who bravely faced both the heat and the hard-hitting questions. Guiding the interview from across the table was RTF student and host Josue Ramos, who maintained his composure as the Scoville ratings climbed.
Under the guidance of RTF instructor Mr. Marco Gonzalez, the production gave students full hands-on experience in studio lighting, audio engineering, camera operation, and live hosting.
"Congratulations to the entire RTF crew and Mr. Gonzalez for putting together an outstanding first shoot," the department shared. "The creativity and technical skill on display were top-tier."
The debut episode of "Spice It Up" is currently in post-production and will drop soon on official school channels. Stay tuned to see if Superintendent Pro survived the heat!
