The Vidal M. Treviño School of Communications and Fine Arts (VMT) is proud to announce that senior standout Sophia Cisneros has been selected as the campus winner for this year’s prestigious Career and Technical Education (CTE) Recognition Awards.
The annual award honors students who demonstrate exceptional skill, leadership, and dedication within their chosen career-readiness pathways, highlighting the intersection of technical excellence and creative talent.
A Bright Light in Commercial Photography
Sophia was nominated for the district-wide honor by her Commercial Photography instructor, Mrs. Joanne Valdez. In her nomination, Mrs. Valdez praised Sophia not just for her technical proficiency behind the lens, but for her stellar character and leadership within the studio.
According to campus faculty, Sophia was chosen for:
The positive energy and "light" she consistently brings to the photography program.
Her eager willingness to step up, help her peers, and actively participate in campus events.
A relentless dedication to always giving her absolute best on every portfolio project and assignment.
Capturing Success and Representing VMT
Through her work in the Commercial Photography program, Sophia has become a vital asset to the VMT community, frequently helping to capture and document the campus’s vibrant history. Whether working on studio lighting or field assignments, she has consistently represented the program and the VMT Gladiators with immense pride.
"We are so proud of you, Sophia!" Mrs. Valdez shared in a celebratory statement. "Thank you for continuing to shine and for setting such a wonderful example of what it means to be a dedicated CTE student."
As a campus winner, Sophia stands as a shining example of how VMT’s CTE pathways prepare students for professional success in the arts and communication industries.
