VMT is thrilled to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of our Fine Arts students across multiple competitions this year. From the 63rd Annual Laredo Fair Art Showcase to the 63rd Annual L.I.F.E. Art Competition, our students demonstrated creativity, skill, and dedication while proudly representing VMT.
At the 63rd Annual L.I.F.E. Art Competition, Regina Loa earned the title of High School Grand Champion and took 1st Place in the Drawing, Color category. In addition to receiving a $500 award, her winning artwork will be featured in the Silent Auction at the Webb County Pavilion on February 28, 2026. Regina has been mentored by Mrs. Berrios, whose guidance continues to provide meaningful opportunities for students to showcase their talents. “Congratulations, Regina! Your creativity, hard work, and passion truly stand out,” said Mrs. Berrios. “We are so proud of your accomplishments and the dedication you bring to your art.”
At the 63rd Annual Laredo Fair Art Showcase, Commercial Photography student Gabriella Ramos earned 4th Place in Mixed Media for her captivating piece featuring a Monarch butterfly, created with a photo transfer technique, gouache paint, and gold leaf embellishments.
Visual Arts students also shined, with Marleny Perez earning 2nd Place in Painting for her vibrant watercolor, and Zoe Barrientos earning 8th Place in Black and White for her detailed graphite drawing, both under the direction of Mrs. Clarissa Visarra.
VMT Graphic Design students made their mark as well: Alberto Castañeda earned 1st Place in Mixed Media, Alek Farias earned 2nd Place, and Ryan Reygoza earned 7th Place, all guided by Mr. Leopoldo Arispe. Additionally, Angie Mendoza placed 6th in Digital at the Austin Rodeo Art Contest.
“These achievements reflect not only talent, but also the dedication and perseverance of our students,” said VMT Assistant Principal Ms. Gonzalez. “We are incredibly proud of all of our artists for representing VMT with excellence and heart.”
