VMT’s Woodwinds students recently delighted audiences with their Woodwind Witching Hour Concert, a festive and light-hearted Halloween performance that showcased both solo and ensemble talent. Under the direction of Melissa S. Hinojosa, students performed in studio chamber groups as well as the Camerata Winds Ensemble, bringing a mix of skill, creativity, and seasonal fun to the stage.
The program featured a variety of enchanting selections, including Gounod’s “March of the Marionette,” Prokofiev’s “Montagues and Capulets,” and Mussorgsky’s “Night on Bald Mountain.” Each piece highlighted the students’ technical abilities, musicality, and artistic expression, creating a spirited and memorable performance for all who attended.
Parents, staff, and fellow students filled the audience, cheering on the performers and celebrating their hard work. “The students were incredible,” said one parent. “It was amazing to see them bring these pieces to life and really enjoy performing together.”
The Woodwind Witching Hour Concert was a perfect way for VMT students to celebrate the season while demonstrating their dedication to music and the arts. The performance left audiences inspired and entertained, showcasing the talent and passion that define VMT’s music programs.
