The Laredo Independent School District (LISD) is proud to announce that Anissa Garcia, a talented junior balancing excellence at both J. W. Nixon High School and the Vidal M. Treviño (VMT) School of Communications and Fine Arts, has been named an LISD Student of the Month for October 2025.
Anissa, who holds an impressive rank of $56^{th}$ in her class, is a prime example of a dedicated and well-rounded student. She credits the honor of being named Student of the Month as a great opportunity and privilege to represent herself and the Nixon High School community. Her favorite subject is Math, a challenge she embraces and enjoys.
Anissa’s impact is widely felt across both her schools and the community. At Nixon, she is an Officer with the Golden Spurs and is heavily involved with FFA (Future Farmers of America), an organization where she raises and shows hogs. At VMT, she channels her artistic talents as a dedicated dancer.
Her commitment to service extends outside of school. Anissa is an Officer with the LIFE Junior Board, volunteers with the FFA organization, and is an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She also pursues her passion for dance with the Laredo School of Contemporary Dance under Jessica Zamarripa.
With a clear vision for her future, Anissa plans to attend UTSA or UT Austin to pursue a law degree, hoping to become a lawyer.
Anissa Garcia is the daughter of Ana and Jenaro Garcia.
The LISD Student of the Month program, recognizing student achievement across the district, is proudly sponsored by Laredo Orthodontics, Chick-fil-A Marketplace at Bob Bullock, and Laredo Federal Credit Union.
