The LISD Office of Communications kindly request your support for our upcoming Annual Belle of the Ball Prom Program. As we prepare for this special occasion, we are collecting formal and semiformal gowns for our young ladies and Tuxedos and sports coats and ties for our young men to provide them with memorable attire for their prom night.

If you have any gently used formal or semiformal dresses, Tuxedos and sports coats and ties that you would like to donate, we would be immensely grateful for your contribution. Your generosity will directly impact the lives of our students and help make their prom experience truly unforgettable.

Laredo ISD Special Education Department hosted the 2026 Special Olympics Texas Area 21 opening ceremony and games at historic Shirley Field. Special education students from Laredo ISD, Jim Hogg County ISD, Webb County Consolidated ISD and Zapata County ISD participated in a variety of events. Each student received a medal for every event they participated in.

📚✨ On World Read Aloud Day, our Book Club members visited ECSE, PreK, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and FLS classrooms to read aloud. Students loved listening to stories from the library collection, with Pete the Cat and Biscuit being the crowd favorites! ✨📚

Ms. Lopez’s Pre-K Special Education class earned 1st Place in the Pre-K Division and was named Grand Champion in the Primary Division at LISD’s Reading Fair — what an outstanding accomplishment! 📖✨

The Laredo Independent School District is hosting its sixth annual Scholars Golf Tournament on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Casa Blanca Golf Course.


Funds raised from the Golf Tournament will benefit scholarships for deserving graduating seniors from the Hector J. Garcia Early College High School, Raymond and Tirza Martin High School, J.W. Nixon High School, and Dr. Leonides Cigarroa High School
