🎉🤖 Congratulations to our CHS and Sabas Perez ECHS students for an outstanding showing at the Laredo ISD 19th Annual Technology Expo! 🏆 Our CHS and Sabas Perez ECHS teams earned 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the Robotics category under the direction of Mrs. De Hoyos—what an incredible achievement! 🥇 1st Place: Gadi Francisco, Diego Marines, Bryan Sandoval, Armin Vanlor 🥈 2nd Place: Eduardo Jimenez, Sean Soler, Bartolo Briones 🥉 3rd Place: Reynaldo Ramos, Sebastian Palomo, Jasmin Barron, Christian Borjas 🎬 Amberly Mena won 3rd place in Video Production under the guidance of Mr. Obed Peña. 💻 Additionally, Pablo Costilla, under the instruction of Mr. Alex Castro, received an Honorable Mention in the Coding App Creation category. ✨ Parental Engagement in Action! ✨ As part of our Parental Engagement Program, parents are invited once a month to participate in a Life Skills Course at the LISD Performing Arts Complex, where they explore fun and creative Arts & Crafts projects. This morning, our Cigarroa High School parents were joined by special guests as they learned how to create a beautiful “Bobo Rose Balloon” 🌹🎈 (Rosa en Globo Burbuja). 🎄✨ Making Learning Magical at CHS! ✨🎄 As part of our celebration of National Computer Science Week, our Digital Learning Specialist, Mrs. Zapata, and our Librarian, Ms. Sosa, visited Ms. Soto’s classroom for a fun and festive ClassVR lesson! Students were transported into a magical holiday world where they explored a Christmas Village, rode along on Santa’s sleigh, and discovered joyful seasonal scenes—all through immersive virtual reality experiences. 🎅🛷 These hands-on activities spark imagination, strengthen visual thinking, and build communication skills as students share ideas, listen to one another, and learn together. We love seeing technology bring learning to life in such exciting ways! 💻🎁💙🐂🤙 #CSEdWeek #LISDCSEDWK

🎄💻 Celebrating National Computer Science Week at CHS! This past week, our students took part in fun and festive STEAM activities that made learning engaging and exciting. They designed Christmas ornaments using 3Doodler pens, explored holiday-themed virtual reality lessons, and enjoyed friendly competitions with Snowman Sphero Bolt robots. Aaron Fuentes, Hector J. Garcia Early College High School Class of 2024, currently a cadet at the United States Military Academy, Class of 2028, and Xerina Coleman, J. W. Nixon High School Class of 2025, who is currently attending the United States Naval Academy, Class of 2029. Aaron and Xerina had the opportunity to see each other at this year’s Army vs. Navy football game, a proud moment highlighting Laredo ISD’s legacy of excellence and service. It is inspiring to see two individuals from Laredo ISD representing our community at our nation’s service academies.
