Laredo Independent School District announces commencement ceremonies for the district’s four high schools, which will be held on Friday, May 22, and Tuesday, May 26. Close to 1,360 LISD High School students who completed all requirements for graduation will receive their diplomas during commencement exercises.
Commencement ceremonies for the Hector J. Garcia Early College High School’s graduating class will be held on Friday, May 22, at the LISD Performing Arts Complex. The ceremony is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. with the procession of graduates to begin at 5:45 a.m. The GECHS Class of 2026 is graduating 88 students.
Graduation ceremonies for Cigarroa, Martin, and Nixon High Schools are scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, at the Sames Auto Arena (SAA).
Graduation Day begins with Dr. Leonides G. Cigarroa High School at 10:00 a.m. with the procession of graduates to begin at 9:45 p.m. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. The CHS Class of 2026 will be graduating 309 students.
Raymond and Tirza Martin High School’s commencement is scheduled at 2:00 p.m. with the procession of graduates starting at 1:45 p.m. Doors open at 1:00 p.m. The MHS Class of 2026 will graduate 467 students.
Joseph Wesley Nixon High School High School’s commencement ceremony is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. The procession of graduates for Nixon High School will start promptly at 5:45 p.m. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. The NHS Class of 2026 will confer diplomas on 496 graduates.
Sames Auto Group will be giving away a brand-new Chevrolet Trax to the winner of the 13th annual Drive Sames for Education Perfect Attendance Incentive Program prior to the Martin graduation ceremony. LISD high school students with perfect are eligible to win the new car courtesy of the Sames Auto Group. The give-away is scheduled for 1:15 p.m.
